AFS stands for…

All questions with answers
  1. AFS stands for…
Answer: AdSense for Search. AdSense for Search is Google's product for showing its search ads on partner results pages. The other three are invented, though they sound like products.
  2. RSOC stands for…
Answer: Related Search on Content. Related Search on Content places related search terms on a content page; the ads appear on the results page that follows. It is not a revenue formula, despite the tempting "revenue share" option.
  3. AFD stands for…
Answer: AdSense for Domains. AdSense for Domains was Google's product for showing search ads on parked domains, wound down during 2025 and ended on 10 February 2026. It had nothing to do with fraud detection.
  4. N2S means…
Answer: Native-to-search: buying native ad clicks and monetising them with a search feed. Native-to-search names the traffic source first and the monetisation second, the same pattern as D2S (Display-to-search) and S2S (Search-to-search).
  5. RPC stands for…
Answer: Revenue per click. RPC is what a paid ad click earns. Turn it into revenue per bought visitor (RPV) before setting it against CPC, what a visitor costs: that comparison decides whether there is a spread at all. Always check which clicks a report divides by.
  6. TAC stands for…
Answer: Traffic acquisition cost. TAC is the money paid to bring traffic in. Company accounts report revenue "ex-TAC" to show what is left after it.
  7. IVT stands for…
Answer: Invalid traffic. Invalid traffic is any click or visit that should not be charged to an advertiser: bots, accidental clicks, incentivised clicks and more.
  8. SIVT stands for…
Answer: Sophisticated invalid traffic. SIVT is the hard-to-detect kind that imitates people. Its simpler sibling is GIVT, general invalid traffic, which routine filters catch.
  9. CPC stands for…
Answer: Cost per click. CPC is the price of one click. In arbitrage it appears twice: the CPC you pay the traffic source, and the CPC an advertiser pays the search engine, which funds your revenue.
  10. SERP stands for…
Answer: Search engine results page. The SERP is the page of results a search returns, where sponsored listings sit. In arbitrage it is the page where the money is actually made.
  11. ROAS stands for…
Answer: Return on ad spend. ROAS is revenue divided by ad spend. 100% ROAS means break-even, which is why it must not be confused with ROI, where break-even is 0%.
  12. CAPI stands for…
Answer: Conversions API. The Conversions API sends conversion events server to server to an ad platform, so the platform can learn which clicks were worth something.
  13. On this site, MFA stands for…
Answer: Made-for-arbitrage: pages built mainly to turn bought traffic into ad clicks. Made-for-arbitrage describes thin pages that exist for the ad click and offer the reader little. The wider ad industry uses the same letters for "made for advertising", a closely related idea.
  14. EPC stands for…
Answer: Earnings per click. EPC is earnings divided by clicks, a term borrowed from affiliate marketing and often used interchangeably with revenue per click on the buying side.
  15. MRC stands for…
Answer: Media Rating Council. The MRC is the US industry body that sets measurement standards, including the definitions of general and sophisticated invalid traffic that detection vendors are audited against.
