What Inuvo does

Inuvo is a small Arkansas company with two parts. The older part shows ads supplied by large platforms on its own websites and on partner sites and apps, and buys traffic to those sites through search and social advertising. The newer part, IntentKey, is an AI tool that helps brands find audiences without tracking individuals.

Its annual report names Yahoo and Google as key long-standing relationships. It also shows how concentrated the business is: in 2025 two platform customers supplied 64.2% and 19.3% of revenue, and in 2024 a single customer supplied 75%. The Google relationship came with the 2012 acquisition of Vertro.

In 2026 management said it was streamlining what it calls Legacy Search to run leaner while it pivots towards IntentKey.

How it makes money

Platforms such as Yahoo and Google pay Inuvo when visitors click the ads it displays; brands and agencies pay for IntentKey media and data.

Where it meets invalid traffic

The company says it monitors advertising quality with its own software. With two customers supplying most of its revenue, a quality dispute with either would be serious.

Inuvo Q2 revenue drops 67% as Legacy Search shrinks, IntentKey grows 19%

Net revenue $7.5 million, -67% YoYAudience Modeling revenue growth +19% YoYLegacy Search revenue decline -80% YoYNet loss $4.0 million ($0.27 per share)Adjusted EBITDA ($1.8 million) lossGross profit $3.3 million

Inuvo reported second quarter 2026 net revenue of $7.5 million, a 67% decrease from the prior year, mainly due to an 80% drop in Legacy Search revenue. Audience Modeling revenue, however, grew 19% year-over-year, reflecting the company's strategic shift toward its IntentKey AI platform. The company posted a net loss of $4.0 million, or $0.27 per share, compared to a $1.5 million loss last year. Inuvo expects continued Audience Modeling growth and stabilized Legacy Search revenue for the rest of 2026.

This release shows Inuvo is rapidly moving away from its declining Legacy Search business and betting on AI-driven advertising with IntentKey. The sharp revenue drop highlights industry changes, but growth in newer products suggests a possible turnaround if the transition succeeds.
