AdSense for Search (AFS)
AdSense for Search is Google's programme that lets approved publishers show Google search and shopping ads on their own search results pages and share the revenue.
AdSense for Search, or AFS, is Google's search monetisation product for publishers and the most sought-after search feed in arbitrage. A publisher with AFS can place Google's search ads, and shopping ads, on results pages on its own site. Advertisers reach those pages through the search partner network.
AFS is a family of pieces. Custom Search Ads is the code that requests and displays the ads. Related search units suggest further searches, and the version for articles is Related Search on Content. Google groups these extras as "Product-Integrated Features" with their own policy set, introduced during 2024.
Access is controlled. Custom Search Ads need special permission on the AdSense account, RSOC requires an AFS contract and a mock-up reviewed by an account manager, and since 20 August 2025 a publisher must log at least 20 search ad impressions in two of the previous six months to keep the product.
Google's parked-domain product, AdSense for Domains, was a sibling of AFS until parked domains were removed as an ad surface in February 2026. The AFS program policies govern everything.
Think of it like this
AFS is like a supermarket chain letting an approved corner shop stock its branded goods on a special shelf, then splitting the takings from that shelf.
