What does N2S mean in search arbitrage?

N2S means native-to-search. A media buyer places adverts in native networks such as Taboola, Outbrain, MGID or Revcontent, the "recommended stories" boxes on news sites, and sends the clicks to a page monetised by a search feed. The name describes the route: traffic bought from native advertising, revenue earned from search ads.

Short answer · The Arbitrage Desk

Native-to-search grew because native advertising offers large volumes of low-cost clicks from people already browsing articles, and a content recommendation widget is a natural place for a headline about a product category.

The model was first built on parked domains. With that route closed at Google, N2S now runs mainly on Related Search on Content pages or on non-Google feeds. Its weak point is placement quality: native networks run across thousands of sites, and some of them produce accidental clicks or poor traffic. Buyers manage this with a blocklist or allowlist at placement level and by tracking revenue per site.
