Content page (article lander)

A content page is an article-style landing page that carries related search units, used to monetise visitors through Related Search on Content.

The short answer, from the The Arbitrage Desk glossary

A content page is a landing page with a real article on it. Within or beside the text sits a unit of related search terms. It is the required format for Google's Related Search on Content, and the article is what separates it from a bare keyword lander.

Google's conditions shape how these pages are built. The page needs enough text. Related search units may not go on low-value or ad-heavy pages. Whatever the incoming ad claimed must be readily available on the page without hunting. And a page reached through paid ads should be substantially the same as its organic version. Google also crawls the page to understand it, which is why a parameter called ignoredPageParams exists to tell the crawler which URL parameters do not change the content.

Quality here is a commercial matter as well as a policy one. An article that honestly answers the promise in the ad produces visitors who click a related search because they want to know more. Mass-produced filler, often AI-generated content, attracts the Made-for-arbitrage label and risks the feed.

An example

An ad says "What a new roof costs in 2026". The content page gives typical price ranges and what affects them, followed by related searches such as "roof replacement quotes".
