What Visymo does
Visymo is a Dutch company that started in 1997 with the search site Vinden.nl and now runs more than 40 search brands around the world. It is a textbook Search-to-search operator: it advertises its own search sites on Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising, people click through and search again, and the sponsored results on Visymo's pages earn more than the visit cost.
The company also builds landing pages with search technology for display networks, which it calls display to search. On its website it names Google, Microsoft and Yahoo as partners, calls itself one of the world's largest Google search partners, and says it spends more than €1 million a day on media. Those are the company's own figures.
How it makes money
Earns a share of search-ad revenue on its own results pages; profit is that revenue minus the cost of the ads it buys to bring visitors in.
Where it meets invalid traffic
Search-to-search traffic starts with a real search, which tends to make it cleaner than some other sources, but the model draws criticism from advertisers who end up paying twice for the same user.
